The Chopin Centre in Szafarnia is a cultural institution which was founded to commemorate the stay of young Fryderyk Chopin. Gradually widening its activities, it is a place where all areas of art meet.

The Centre’s activities focus primarily on musical concerts. These concerts, which are organized at least several times a month, traditionally take place every Sunday at 4 pm. They attract not only habitual guests but also new music lovers. On the stage of The Chopin Centre one can see some well-known Polish artists as well as those from abroad, presenting not only Chopin’s works. The Centre’s repertoire includes both classical music and jazz interpretations, as well as cabaret music.

The Centre’s activities also encompass musical education – workshops or master courses, organizing piano, literary or art competitions together with photographic and painting exhibitions, theatrical performances and many other.

The Centre is open to visitors every day except for Mondays. In order to make our offer more attractive, we are planning to digitalize the collections and create multimedia displays along with an interactive museum.

We arrange concerts upon order, museum lessons and also film projections for organized groups as well as individual tourists.

The Chopin Centre is located in a XIX century manor, surrounded by a historic park, in which one can find trees growing since the times when young Chopin used to visit the place (today these are considered as Nature Monuments). Situated in picturesque surroundings of the ice-marginal valley of the River Drwęca, it is a place of cultural as well as touristic activity. The Centre offers its guests 3 or 4 person rooms with bathrooms with high standard facilities (altogether for 14 people). In the historic cellar of the manor there is a café.

In the Centre one can also find rehearsal rooms, a library, a conference room (about 40 seats) and a museum room which will soon be transformed into an interactive theme park dedicated to Fryderyk Chopin. Needless to say, there is also a concert room, the focal point of which is the recently purchased Steinway & Sons grand piano.

The Chopin Centre is an institution financed by the means from the government of kujawsko-pomorskie voivodship.
