XVIII Nationwide Art Competition for Children
My first encounter with Fryderyk Chopin
Art education for the youngest is one of the main aims of the Chopin Centre in Szafarnia. Thus the centre organizes art competitions devoted to the memory of the outstanding Polish composer - Fryderyk Chopin. This competition is organized for children aged between 7 and 15. The works can be prepared in any form.
By 15 May 2009, 286 works entered the competition, 152 in the older group and 134 in the younger group.
The jury consisting of artists is will evaluate the works in two categories according to age:
- 7 – 11 year olds
- 12 – 15 year olds
The jury will evaluate the works in accordance with the following criteria: relevance to the theme, way of making, artistic techniques used and overall impression.
The organizers will inform the contestants about the results by post. The list of laureates will be available on www.szafarnia.art.pl site. All the children awarded prizes and distinctions will be invited to the Chopin Centre in Szafarnia to take part in the ceremony of award giving.
